What Causes Passing Of Dark Urine?

I have been having dark colored and brown urine over past few weeks - not all the time.I am drinking plenty of water and have had no changes in medications, etc.I actually do not take any meds. No real pain to speak of, occasional discomfort or squeezing feeling in right lower back, that I do not believe is muscular.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi, thanks for using healthcare magic

Change in the color urine is normally related to diet, different types of infection or side effect medication.

It can also occur in other conditions such as liver disease, dehydration, stones in the urinary tract.

If this change continues , it would be best to see your doctor for an assessment which would include physical examination, review of any additional symptoms and urine analysis.

Any further investigations would depend on the results of the above.

I hope this helps
