What Causes Passing Black Stool While Suffering From Congested Heart Failure?
my mother in law is in the fourth stage of congestive heart failure, I have 2 questions 1) on 12/20 she weighted in at 118 she has stayed at that weight for 2 1/2 weeks, since coming home from the hospital 11/24, then on 12/21 she weighted 110 and has stayed at that weight until 12/28 she weighted in at 107, yesterday and today she weighted 105. She eats 3 meals a day and eats very well, her PA that she seen on 12/28 in my opinion blew it off. And today I noticed that her stool is very black she does take an iron tablet but her stool just started turning very black in the last couple of weeks. She has been staying at my home since she got out of the hospital. Any answers you can give me will greatly appreiciated

The passage of black stool while on therapy for heart failure which must be including anti platelet therapy for best results is in concern with underlying GI bleeding for sure.
