What Causes Palpitations And Dizziness While On Losartan?

I have been prescribed Lostran 100mg for my High Blood Pressure for the past three years. My primary schedules annual physicals and blood work. Latest blood results were all in the normal range and my good cholesterol was extremely good. My concern is more than once a month I will experience rapid heart beat, dizziness and cold sweats. The episodes last for about a couple of hours and than dissipates. What do you think might be going on?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I do not think that this has to do with Losartan drug. I recommend you to do cardiac sonography and an ECG Holter monitor to see what these palpitations are.

It may be Atrial Fibrillation (AF) that starts and stops itself, called Paroxysmal AF.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Anila Skenderi
