What Causes Palpitations After Having Food?

Why are some foods having such a negative affect on me. Tonight for supper, I had a proper portion of roast beef, 12o ml of mashed potatoes and two table spoon scoops of cream corn. I've been trying to watch out and figure out what is causing my heart to beat harder, and feeling sluggish after. I was tested for diabetes but my doctor said that I am not, as of yet.

Hi,

Thanks for your question on HCM

I do understand your concern

As per your question your problem is due to indigestion only so you may follow few advise like this-:

1)Try to avoid foods that trigger your palpitations like spicy foods, processed foods, carbonated beverages, etc

2)Eat small meals and try to avoid very large meals, chew food slowly and thoroughly and take time while eating

3)Try to limit alcohol and coffee

4)Avoid unnecessary painkillers

5)Do yoga and exercise to remove stress and anxiety

6)Excess pounds put pressure on your abdomen,so try to maintain a good weight.

7)Add one tablespoon of raw, unfiltered apple cider vinegar to a cup of water. Mix in one teaspoon of raw honey. Drink this solution two to three times a day for quick relief.

8)Drinking herbal tea after eating a heavy meal can greatly reduce indigestion. Dip your favorite herbal tea bag into a hot cup of water and cover it for five minutes. Drink it while it is still warm. Peppermint tea and chamomile tea, in particular, help calm your stomach and relieve digestive problems.

Hope that helps
