2 days ago I had blood in my urine and pain when i urinated. Also have had small amount of blood in my underwear. I am a man, 45 years old. Saw a doc today at a local clinic. He checked my urine sample and there was no blood present and no sign of infection. What she d i do next?
Hi, I had gone through your question and understand your concerns.
This indicates possible bleeding in urethra, bladder or kidneys. In most cases this is caused by urinary infection or urinary stones so you should do urine analysis, urinoculture and kidneys ultrasound to rule these out. Also, vesicoureteral reflux may be possible cause which is anomaly of bladder but can be easily treated. You should drink raspberry tea and plenty of water till you do tests- Also, avoid sexual intercourse .You should reduce salt in your diet as well. In most cases this is self limiting but sometimes antibiotics are required and more invasive tests such as cystoscopy to rule out more serious issues Hope this answers your question. If you have additional questions or follow up questions then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your questions.
Wishing you good health.
