What Causes Painful Urination In A Toddler?

My two year old cries out in pain when he has to pee. I brought him to two doc his PCP and urgent care. urgent care says that he does not have a UTI that maybe the tip of his penis is sore. And gave us lidocaine to put on the tip. and to give him ibprofin. He will hold his pee for hours, we will run to the potty and try he has no problem sitting on the potty wjen he is on the potty he will wiggle and cry and grab at himself. I just got another pee sample to bring to his doctor because I really feel like something is not working right. What are your thoughts?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

It could be due to minor inflammation or soreness in the urinary tract.

As of now you can give him paracetamol syrup according to body weight.

If symptoms persists better to go for an ultrasound scan and urine culture.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain,
