Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Painful Muscle Spasms On The Lower Left Side Post Surgery?
I had lower back surgery Aug. 3rd. Basically took spurs off that were compressing my spine. I was doing well for two weeks but then had to have gallbladder out. I m now experiencing sever muscle spasm and pain on my lower left side. My physical therapist mentioned today that she thinks it could be kidney or adrenal or intestinal. I have no clue what to do .
Thanks for your question on Healthcare Magic. I can understand your concern. Lower left back pain is mostly due to kidney stones or intestinal disease. So get done ultrasound examination of abdomen and KUB (kidney ureter and bladder). If ultrasound is normal then no need to worry much. Apply ice packs and continue physiotherapy. You can take painkiller like ibuprofen or acetaminophen also. But if ultrasound is showing stone then you will have to remove the stone by surgery. Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.
