What Causes Painful Lumps On Jawbone Near The Ear And On Neck?

Hi I have a painful lump on my right side jawbone back by my ear. At first it was smaller and I could move it around but now it doesn t move and I also noticed a lump in my neck on the right side. The lump in my neck is tender when I touch it but I don t know if that is from me feeling for it often. The lump on my jawbone has always been painful and I noticed that over a month ago. My best friend passed away from Hodgkins which started as a lump in her neck. Should I be concerned?

Welcome to health care magic.

1.In case if the lesion is immobile and hard to touch - possibly bony lesion can be considered ad differential diagnosis.
2.Which is odnto-genic cyst followed by ostiod lesion.
3.In case of a soft lesion the possible cause could be parotid gland / submandibular lesion.
4.An ultrasound scan of the lesion will help to evaluate the nature of the lesion and its source and extensions.
5.I would suggest to request your GP to refer for a scan and depending on the findings - further treatment can be planned.

Good luck.
