What Causes Painful Lump Under Armpit?

hi, im a 16 year old female and i have a painful lump under my armpit. it usually only comes up around the time i get my period. i went to my doctor a few months ago but they only said to come back if it got bigger. my mom also started to notice a lump inder her armpit when she was my age and now it has grown to about half of her palm size, i dont want that to happen to me so i really want to find out what it is and get it taken care of.

I have gone through your question. I can understand your concern.
You may have some enlarged axillary lymph nodes due to reactive hyperplasia, tuberculosis or lymphoma or it can be simple axillary lipoma. You should go for fine needle aspiration cytology once. it will give you exact diagnosis. Then you should take treatment accordingly.
