What Causes Painful Lump On The Knee?

hey doc the other day i was at work and didn't see a piece of metal sticking out of the wall and i walked right into in and it hit the top left side of my left knee . the next day i had a knot on that same corner and when i stoop down and or kneel on the knee it painfully hurts. What could that be?

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have painful lump on the knee . Well the symptoms you mention in query can occur due to may reasons like baker's cyst , insect bite , skin infection , sebaceous cyst , varicose vein , haematoma and lymphadenopathy . I would suggest you to consult general surgeon for proper examination . Doctor may order biopsy , physically examination and check tenderness and consistency . Doctor may prescribe anti bacterial , anti inflammatory , anti histamine or may drain the cyst surgically . For now apply warm compresses and maintain persona hygiene .
