I am training for the London marathon unfortunately I tripped over while running and fell on my chest. The pain has been awful. When I lie down I struggle to sit up, and coughing is really painful. I m not sure if I ve cracked a rib or am bruised. I have been take painkiller but they don t seem to be doing anything. I am ment to be running the marathon in 2 weeks so have tried to run or go on the cross trainer the last 4 days but it s painful. What do you recommend I do. I really want to run the marathon I have hundreds of people that have sponsored me so don t want to let my charity down. I fell on Tuesday but don t seemed to feel any better.
thanks for your question I completely understand your question it seems as you got a rib fracture you nees to visit a pulmonologist and get an urgent chest xray done the pulmonologist can see the chest xray and will rule out any fracture he may prescribe you with some analgesics like paracetamol to control the pain dont panic it can be a simple muscle injury which ll heal in some time but you need to visit a pulmonologist thanks feel free to ask more questions may god bless you with good health
