What Causes Painful Breathing After A Gallbladder Surgery?
I had my gallbladder removed 8/8 and it was huge with an enormous stone in it. It was supposed to be laparoscopic but the incision had to be lengthened to get the gallbladder out. Since I got home, I ve had RUQ pain when I breathe, positionally painful, hurts when I yawn or take a deep breath. My stools have become almost white. I don t know what is happening but I m feeling worse everyday. My appetite is very poor due to the pain.
Hello, Welcome to Ask a doctor services. I have read your question.
Your symptoms are indicative that you suffering from complications after choleycystectomy. Your stools are pale because of the lack of bile.
Post choleycystectomy patients may develop internal infection with pus leaking from the wound, pain, swelling, redness.
After gall bladder removal clips are used to seal the tubes that connect the gall bladder to the main duct. But sometimes, bile may leak out into the abdomen causing pain, sickness, fever or swelling abdomen.
You are suggested to visit your surgeon & inform him about the symptoms you are suffering from. He may ask you to go through a series of blood & Imaging tests.
Your treatment will depend upon the pathology detected. Hope I have answered your question. Take care. Regards, Dr Nupur K
