What Causes Pain Under The Left Shoulder Blade?

Hi, I woke up one morning with what felt like a pinched nerve under my left shoulder blade. The pain has since left that area but I have pain in my left arm anywhere from my shoulder down to my fingertips on left arm/hand, pretty much daily. The pain moves around and it depends usually upon what I m doing. I am a very active volleyball player and I noticed that I have less strength in my left arm than before. I also feel a slightly sore and swollen lymph node on the inside bicep area of that arm. Is this all related?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

As a first line management, you can take analgesics like Paracetamol or Aceclofenac for pain relief.

If symptoms persist you can consult an orthopaedician and plan for an MRI to rule out ligament or tendon involvement.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
