What Causes Pain The Neck And Numbness In The Right Arm?
My 39 year old son has had pains in his neck which he thinks is a pinched nerve. Last week he woke up with numbness in his right arm going down to his elbow. He is just miserable, but won t get it checked out. He has had Bells Palsy on that same side of his face. Could there be any diseases that would cause this? My husband has Parkinson s. Our son finally decided to try urgent care today when he couldn t work. Should I be concerned about him? Also, I have had 5 brainstem strokes. Thank you for any info you can give me. Jeanne
Hi Thanks for posting on HCM The neck region is a region with many nerves and when any is compressed or irritated, the effect is felt at all parts of the body to which the nerve leads.A compression on the neck may give the symptoms he presents.Numbness in the right hand could as well be caused by stroke, cevical neruropathy, metabolic/ionic imbalances, vitamin deficiency. I will suggest he gets the hand examined by the Doctor.Treatment options will however be: different lines of pain medication, myorelaxants, steroids occasionally, physiotherapy. The best options for him will be decided by his Doctor. Hope this will help Best regards
