What Causes Pain On The Right Side Of The Throat?

For a couple weeks now... The right side of my throat hurts when I swallow or lay down and causes a little bit of flem where I need to clear my throat and I can slightly feel it go to the right ear .. I m scared that it s something horrible I ve never experienced this feeling .. The pain can be anywhere from a 2-8

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of pain on the right side of the throat which could be due to infection of the tonsil or pharynx, ulcer over tonsils, blockage of sinuses and respiratory tract infection. You should take green tea on daily basis in morning. Take nasal sprays on daily basis as it will open up sinuses and blood will not be discharged. Need not to worry much as blood in sputum is due to infection of sinuses. Take antibiotics along with anti-inflammatory medications. Visit pulmonologist/ ENT specialist once and get it examined if symptoms keeps on persisting. Apply humidifiers in room. Do warm saline gargles and get complete examination of blood count along with swab and sputum test. Start treatment after proper prescription.
