What Causes Pain On The Left Side Of The Breast?

hi. I have severe pain in the sides of my breast. I am assuming this a lymph node. The pain increases during and before cycle. During normal days too i feel pain. When i massage my breast the pain vanishes like it wasnt there. Pain is only on the left side. I dont feel it on right side.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The pain on the left side of the breast is due to hormonal sensitivity during monthly cycle. To rule out lymph nodes or other pathologies, I recommend to run ultrasound of both breasts. Meanwhile, take paracetamol or ibuprofen for the pain. Apply alternating warm and cold compresses locally when you feel the pain together with massaging.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Albana Sejdini, General & Family Physician
