What Causes Pain In Upper Jaw And Cheekbone Area While Having Strep Throat?

I have a confirmed case of strep throat. I am not taking antibiotics. I am 40-year-old female. I have had the strep since MondayFebruary 15. In addition to joint fatigue and normal pain associated with strap I now have pain in my upper jaw and cheekbone area. Would you consider this just a normal part of the process with strep throat?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello dear welcome to HealthcareMagic
Presenting a history of pain at the upper jaw and the cheekbone joint fatigue following a strep throat infection I am suggesting this is caused by a condition called acute parotitis (inflammation of the salivary gland) due to spread from the throat infection

Please do a throat swab and see an ENT specialist with the result and for further clinical assessment and adequate drug prescription

I hope this helps Regards
