What Causes Pain In Toes Post A Bursectomy?

I m having pain in my left foot. Across the top and across the base of my toes. It is very painful when I step, then complete the step by flexing ball or underneath side of my foot. I just had a bursectomy and IT band release on my right hip. What could it be? Overcompensating somehow?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Very likely you are having a plantar fascitis. This is due to tension on the fascia that goes at the bottom of your foot and is quite common.

You may take some ibuprofen and paracetamol to help with the pain, apply ice locally a few times a day and see a physiotherapist to get some exercises to help improve quicker.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Antoneta Zotaj, General & Family Physician
