What Causes Pain In The Upper Abdomen After An End Ileostomy?

I have an end ileostomy, my colon was removed 2 years ago due to ulcerative colitis. I also have no gallbladder. I am having some achy discomfort in my left upper to mid abdomen, it gets worse after eating. A little nausea. I feel some tightness and fullness. My ileostomy is working fine.

Hello,

But this is probably due to gastritis. So I would recommend that you take omeprazol once daily and ranitidine before every meal. Please also get a stool analysis for h.pylori infection which can cause such symptoms.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Salah Saad Shoman, Internal Medicine Specialist
