What Causes Pain In The Thigh While Sitting?

I am experiencing pain in the upper inner thigh of my left leg - the pain isn t sharp it is ,more of an ache (on a scale of 1-10, a 5 at its worse). It is a dull ache when i am sitting, stronger when i go to stand or re-position my leg. The pain subsides when I stand or am standing/walking. I don t recall injuring or straining my leg. General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Pain in the thigh while sitting is indicative of some nerve compression, it can be due to obesity, wearing tight clothing, heavy tool belt or a medical condition, Meralgia paresthesia.

You are suggested to lose weight, control blood sugar if diabetic, do regular exercises, stay away from addictions if any.

Do stretch exercises & regular walking/jogging. However, get physically examined by a GP, to rule out any developing pathology like tumor, sciatica, bone fracture or bursitis.

You can take analgesics or NSAIDS, one sos when pain to get rid of pain.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
