What Causes Pain In The Right Shoulder?

My right shoulder has been painful for four weeks and not improved. I believe it may be a tendon, but not sure. I cannot lift anything over several ounces. All motion is painful. I ve had several injuries to the shoulder in high school I partially broke the humerus age 15, and had muscular contractions due severe burns and skin grafts at age 29. Please advise best course of action.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

It would be best to be seen and assessed by your doctor because there are a number of different possible causes for shoulder pain.
It can be due to one or more of the tendons in the area as you mentioned or it can be due to the bones or both.

Some of the conditions that can affect the shoulder include dislocation, frozen shoulder, injury of the rotator cuff, bursitits , arthritis.
With a history of repeated injury to the shoulder joint, arthritis is a definite possibility.

Treatment would vary depending on the cause of your symptoms but in general would include physiotherapy and pain medication.

I hope this helps
