What Causes Pain In The Right Eye And Rashes On The Neck?

This evening while out with a friend I noticed that my right eye began to throb and hurt, and the skin on my neck felt raw. I returned to my hotel and my neck is full of rashes (red, blistery patches) and my right eye is all red. Are these signs of some allergic reaction? I ve get migraines regularly and thought that the hurting eye was a sign that one might be coming on but no migraine has come on. My eye ball is still red and throbbing.

Internal Medicine Specialist 's  Response
Hello,

Eye pain and rashes may be due to viral fever with viral conjunctivitis. Other possibilities like insomnia or allergy to soap or dust or shampoo etc.

Until examination is done it is difficult to say what it is. Check it out for platelet count, complete blood picture, malaria and fundoscopy.

Then please consult your physician/ophthalmologist he will examine and treat you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
