What Causes Pain In The Philtrum And Swelling On The Upper Lip?
Well I have a aching issue right under my nose and above my upper lip I think, you call it philtrum...it s aching very bad to the point it s affecting my two front teeth with a little bit of swelling of the top lip.I have had no injury to the site. I m fighting a cold right now that s about it..please help,im uncomfortable and worried
I can understand your concern. It seems that you are suffering from an allergic reaction to an allergen that you are not aware about.
I would advise you to start with antihistamines such as Levocetrizine 5 mg (Levocet) or Loratidine 10 mg (Lorfast) once a day for 5 days. If it will be an allergic reaction, it should come under control or decrease in 2 days.
However, if there is no effect of antihistamine, I would advise you to visit a dentist for clinical examination of the upper two front teeth as the condition or infection of teeth might be affecting the lip and philtrum. The dentist might take an x-ray to confirm.
I hope this information helps you. Thank you for choosing HealthcareMagic. I wish you feel better soon.
Best, Dr. Viraj Shah
