What Causes Pain In The Ovaries?

I had an ovarian cyst rupture a month ago, CT scan confirmed. I had a follow up with my gyne yesterday and there was still pain during the internal exam. She ordered ultrasound, CBC with differential with platelets, prolactin, and tsh 3rd generation blood tests but did not explain why. What is she looking for? The ICD-9 diagnosis code on the lab order was 625.9-unspecified symptom of female genital organs. I understand that these are hormonal tests but have no specifics. Info would be appreciated. Thank you.

Hi I think she might be trying to find the cause of ovarian cyst formation or to rule out any hormonal imbalances. If your periods are irregular, these tests can tell you the reason for that. If anything is abnormal, it needs to be treated. Hope it helps.
