Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I started having back pain right in the middle of my lower back. Where I couldn t even stand straight. Now my back pain is still there but not as severe. Then my hip started hurting on the right side. And now my lower thigh and the back of my calf is hurting non stop. Been like this since May and getting worse everyday. When I would lay down it would go away. But not anymore. It s 24/7 everyday. Dr keeps giving me pain pills and muscle relaxers. I can t be eating them everyday and can t take them at work where I work 10 hr days.
First of all, what is the nature of the work/occupation? If you have to stand there for long time, it has to be stopped.
You may take some holidays. Now if you think you can take muscle relaxants and paracetamol or some pain pills if they soothe you.
But the thing which is most important to do is X-Ray Spine. With the plate and result, post another question, the doctor may give you MRI if found anything suspicious.
You also need some physical exam. So, you can go to a Neurologist. Thank you and do not worry. These cases are very common.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Dipan Samanta, General & Family Physician
