What Causes Pain In The Legs While On Microzide And Zestril?

I have been taking Microzide at 12.5 mg. for eleven days, along with my usual Zestril. I am 83, alas, and usually do have some back pain and pain in one leg. I have been waking up with pain in both legs, plus the back. The leg pains improve somewhat as the day progresses. The back pain gets worse. There is a general feeling of mild nausea and deep thirst, plus the fact that I m more dispirited than I ve been in a long time. To sum up, I hate this drug. My internist is on vacation (he returns in two weeks) - which is why I m taking advantage of your kindness and patience in responding to this. I would like to stop this drug immediately. Any advice? And thank you in advance Lee Meagher

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

As a first line management, you can take analgesics like Paracetamol or Aceclofenac for pain relief. If symptoms persist, it is better to consult a physician and get evaluated.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
