What Causes Pain In The Legs After Taking Crestor?
Thanks. I have been on pravastatin 40MG for at least 10 years. I cut the pills in half so I only take 20mg each night at bedtime. Prior to this Rx, I tried Crestor, but had the almost immediate side effect of pain in both legs; my doctor then switched me to pravastatin and I ve had no problems with it for all these years. A few weeks ago I noticed that during the night my legs would start aching and waking me up. Is it possible that I have developed this common statin side effect from pravastatin after all this time?

Statins can rarely cause musculoskeletal pain due to myosotis.
As a first line management, you can take analgesics like paracetamol or aceclofenac for pain relief.
If symptoms persist better to consult a physician and get an ultrasound scan done.
