What Causes Pain In The Left Heel?

I have pain in my left heel. The pain is usually on the bottom of the heel but also occurs on the edge around the heel. Right now the pain is on the left edge/side of my heel. My foot and ankle is also swollen. This is the first time that swelling has occurred. Yesterday and today I was on my feet more than usual(cleaning , laundry etc) I have had this pain for several weeks. It is worse today. The pain is not as bad in the morning. When sitting reading etc. I elevate my feet and legs. I have also taken naproxen which helps some.

Hi welcome to the health care magic

Here arthritis, Plantar fascitis, sprain etc like local causes has to be ruled out...

For that local part digital x ray needed...

If specific cause found than treated accordingly

If no local any cause present than your protein level should be checked to rule out hypoproteinemia...

If needed liver and Renal profile report can be checked

According to cause specific treatment given

Avoid strenous work up and prolonged standing..

Take care
