What Causes Pain In The Left Calf And Hamstring Area?

I am experiencing pain in the left calf and hamstring area. There is also some tingling sensation in the back of my knee. This been getting worse over the past ten days. It is not affected by exercise. I have ridden a stationary bike at the gym several times with no additional pain.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Such pain can be a muscle pull, swelling of tendons behind the knee, a sign of sciatica or deep vein thrombosis.

Please stop exerting till you get exact diagnosis & expert advise. Give rest to the part/apply an ice pack or hot pad, it would help on relieving pain, do not massage. Take Ibuprofen pill. Still, you can contact a physician.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Vasudha Jayant Athavale,
