What Causes Pain In The Knee Cap After Knee Joint Replacement Surgery?

I had my knee joint replaced about a year ago. I still have pain on the top of the knee cap...the ligaments ache and sometimes all the way down the shin. Any ideas for pain relief? I am taking Alleve 500 as per ordered by my doctor, twice in 24 hours.

Thanks for your question on Healthcare Magic.
I can understand your concern.
In my opinion, you are mostly having musculoskeletal pain.
So along with painkiller medicines, you should also below mentioned steps.
1. Avoid heavyweight lifting and strenuous exercise.
2. Avoid movements causing pain.
3. Wear knee band while walking and standing.
4. Also take calcium and vitamin d 3 supplements.
5. Start knee physiotherapy for strengthening muscles surrounding knee joint.
6. Apply warm water pad and ice packs alternatively on affected areas.
Don't worry, you will be alright with all these all these.
Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.
