What Causes Pain In The Back And Joints After A Surgery?

Is it to be expected that I will have more pain in my 3rd week post surgery than my 2nd. I am off the big drugs and have been since 1st week however talking my regular pain meds for back, neck, joints, etc. I am in a cast, not weight bearing and mostly in bed. I feel like my foot is having tics - muscles tighten, foot arches (as allowed). My partner thinks it is a case of nerves healing. I m just wanting to know this is normal or atleast nothing to worry about. Thanks, Susan

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

It could be an inflammatory pain only.
As first-line management, you can take analgesics like paracetamol or aceclofenac for pain relief.
If symptoms persist, it is better to consult a physician and get evaluated.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
