Good Evening, I have been having pain starting from underneath the bone at the middle of my rib cage along the left side. This pain extends down the left side of my abdomen and seem s to increase no matter what I eat or drink. I have trouble sitting and laying. No matter what I try, it hasn t gone away.

Hi
Thank you for asking HCM.
I have gone through your query. Your problem can be most likely due to gastritis and reflux. As you having a left sided pain an ECG should be taken to rule out a cardiac cause to be on safe side. If that is clear then if you were my patient i would advise proton pump inhibitor like rabeprazole and motility agents like domperidone for 2 to 4 weeks according to severity. If there is no improvement then i would recommend a consultation with gastro-enterologist and fibrogastroduodenoscopy to rule out any complications like ulcers.
Hope this may help you. Let me know if anything not clear.
Thanks.
