I have been experiencing a pain on the left side of my breast, about 2 inches from where my arm meets my chest. The pain comes and goes and it burns and hurts. It is now sore in this area. The pain can be triggered by sitting down. It hurts so bad that I cry out when I experience it. I am a 48 year old female who is going through perimenopause. This pain does not seem to be associated with my breathing, but rather certain movements or accidental touches to the area. I have looked and there is nothing out of the ordinary in this area. I do feel a softish lump about a centimeter in size.
Hi, I have gone through your question and understand your concerns. Pain and soft lump in one breast can be breast abscess, infection, or carcinoma. I would suggest you to get a mammogram done and further consult a surgeon for appropriate investigations and treatment. Hope you found the answer helpful. Wishing you good health. Dr Deepti Verma
