Hi,

From the query, I got that you are suffering from peripheral neuropathy due to vitamin deficiency caused by chronic gastritis. Gastritis is the condition in which the lining of the stomach are inflamed which makes digestion poor. It may due to multiple reasons such as obesity, poor diet habit, sedentary lifestyle, stress, drug induced, alcoholic, infective, etc. Helicobacter pylori is the most common organism causing gastritis.

Upper gastroduodenal scopy helps to identify the severity of the condition and the presence of infection. Antibiotic therapy is the mainstay of treatment in H. pylori infection. Healthy water prevent the frequent recurrence of the infection. Gastritis may provoked by unhealthy and unscheduled diet pattern. Chronic gastritis cause Vitamin B12 deficiency which results in peripheral neuropathy. Burning sensation of the sole, pain in the peripheries and numbness are common presentations in B12 deficient neuropathy. Vitamin supplementation either oral or intravenous route helps in short term relief. Proton pump inhibitors, antacids, H2 receptor blockers are agents used in gastritis.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Pradeepraj, General & Family Physician
