What Causes Pain In Anus?

Hi, I ve had this acke or rawness in my anus it seems to feel right above the anus it feels to be in the fold area it almost goes away then I have a bowel movement and it seems to get worse. I went to the doctor an he checked and there wasn t any lumps or blood in the anus. He said I had Puritus Ani or something like that. He gave me Proctozone but that didn t work. I m afraid that I might have cancer or something else. Maybe I need reassurance it s not something bad.

Hello,

Itching around the anus may be seen in infection or hemorrhods or fissure or fistula or worm infestation or allergy to clothing or moisturizing creams or intake of spicy food or food that aggravate the allergy etc.

Until examination is done it is difficult to say what it is.

Check for a stool for ova and cysts, check for hemoglobin status, check for eosinophil count.

Blood sugar, serum electrolytes, bilirubin level also useful.

If symptoms not improved please consult your doctor he will examine and treat you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
