What Causes Pain In Ankles During Plantar Flexion?
When I am half awake I stretch, I plantar flex both ankles during this stretch and get immediate and severe cramps/ spasm of my anterior tibialis mm. It causes me to jump out of bed and I can barely walk due to the spasm. It lasts 10 minutes and my ant. tibs remain tender to palpation. I have had a recent bout with kidney stones and am taking flow max.
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have pain in ankles during plantar flexion specially in the morning . Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like inadequate blood supply , nerve compression , mineral depletion , vitamin E deficiency and gout . I would suggest you to do gentle massage , start taking vitamin E supplement , put your legs in hot water tub for 15 minutest daily and do light exercises . Consult orthopedic surgeon for proper examination . Doctor will examine physically , take history and order uric acid level test . Doctor may prescribe muscle relaxant , anti inflammatory or physical therapy .
