General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

I understand your concern.

The pain you feel between your should and neck and on your hands is due to pulled back muscles. This has compressed the nearby nerves causing the pain radiating to the hands.

Try to stay in sitting position when feeding your baby at night. Pillows on back can help.

Apply essential oil (silver bird) locally to ease the pain. Cover with warm clothing on the back (between shoulder and neck).

Take oral analgesic (like ibuprofen or paracetamol). Those won't affect your baby negatively.

This is temporary. Adjusting the posture while feeding your baby will prevent future pain.

All the best.
