General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I feel this is a case pulled or strained muscle. According to m knowledge It could have been due to a bad sleeping postures , any sudden movement, because cold weather, vitamin deficient (B12 or D) or lifting something heavy.

I would advice you to ice the area for 20 minutes at a time at least 3 times a day, rest, avoid vigorous activity, stay hydrated, start calcium vitamin D and Vitamin B12 supplements, improve your sleeping posture and massage that area with a topical pain reliever gel.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Hiba Tehrim, General & Family Physician
