What Causes Pain Behind Knee?

HI I have pain right behind my knee. I m 65 and I am a skier. So bending and straighting is essential. About 10-12 years ago I busted my gastrocnimus (Sp?0 in a very unusual fall. I think there is a connection, Can you tell me what I could do to rehab./ it.

Pain behind the knee could be due ro several factors like a sprain, Bursitis, myositis, even a fracture, osteoporosis, Vitamin d deficiency and many other things. I suggest you consult your physician who may investigate you after a thorough physical exaination. You may require tests like serum calcium,Vitamin D, X Ray of the involved area and other tests. You can also consult a physiotherapist to begin a exercize schedule for you.
