Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
For about a week now I have been having moderate pain in my left hip area. I haven t injured myself that I am aware of. The pain tends to hit me later in the evening when I m just resting on the sofa or lying in bed. The pain sometimes causes me to limp when walking and it hurts even when I m shifting positions in bed. The entire leg just feels weird when I m in a laying position. Could someone please tell me what is going on. I m 46 years old so I m not sure if this could be some breakdown of my bones. Please help!!
Hello, my name is Dr.Dorina Gurabardhi. I understand your concern. Some of the most common causes of hip pain can be: -Reumathoid arthritis -Injury -Pinched nerves -Other causes To determine the diagnose is necessary an xray and a blood test initially. The treatment depend on the cause. To treat the pain I suggest you to take an over-the-counter pain reliever such as acetaminophen or ibuprofen. Hope my answer was helpful, if you have any other questions I'll be glad to help, thanks!
