I am 55 year old woman in great health. I have had pain accross my rib cage for a couple of weeks now, like a tight band going across under the breast area, and some related discomfort in the kidney area. I was imagining it to be fibromyalgia, but I went to a doctor who frightened me by implying it might be cancer. I subsequently went for chest/lung X-Rays, and blood work. Still waiting on a mammogram results, however they found a nodule on the midline of left lung, 8x4mm. Blood work was normal ostensibly. As a notation, I had pleurisy 30 years ago, and was hospitalized for days as it was severe. Going in for ct as well now. What was unclear, is what this pain is, as the dr didn t believe the pain and the finding to be related. In addition, I am feeling lost because I feel I m getting inferior care. How to proceed? Your thoughts are welcome.
