What Causes Pain And Swelling In The Legs While Treating Lupus?

Hi my name is Monica, I am a lupus patient have been for over twenty years, however in recent months my legs have been swelling, and becoming painful, i can only stand brief moments, i don t cook or shop, nothing strengious on my knees, lot of chest pain, and shoulder and back pain.

Hi Monica! I wonder what your age is! Considering the long history of lupus one may develop some issues with kidney function which may cause fluid retention in the body, which due to gravity tend to accumulate in the legs most of the time. But there can be other reasons for that as well like thyroid problems, heart issues, liver function, local causes, etc. It may be a great idea to get examine as that may reveal the nature of the swelling and the probable cause which may further be confirmed with tests.
