What Causes Pain And Swelling In Leg?

While getting out of my car my left leg was out & right leg still in car. Didn t realize I didn t have car in park & when trying to get out car went forward which forced the car door to close as it was hitting the car parked next to me. Car didn t stop so door continued to get tighter on my left leg until I could get right foot on break & get car in park. Leg was squished above knee. It s bruised & hugely swollen. What type of damage could have happened to leg? I ve been elevating since happened 3 days ago & no difference in pain or swelling.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

Most probably it will be a contusion or sprain.

As of now, you can use analgesics/anti-inflammatory combination like aceclofenac/serratiopeptidase for symptomatic relief.

You can also apply ice packs for faster recovery.

If symptoms persist better to consult an orthopedician and get evaluated.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain,
