What Causes Pain And Stiffness In Elbow Joint?

I am a 45 year old male. Played sports and work in the logging industry. My elbow joints started to get stiff and sore over the past year. It has got progressively worse, especially in my right elbow. I now have a bruise that has developed on the inside of my elbow. If my elbow stays in the same position for a period of time, it is difficult to move. Lifting is very painful, but not to the point where I can 't function. What do you think?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,Welcome to the HCM
Brief..It could be arthritis..
Detailed answer...First of all I would suggest X-ray of both elbows to rule out arthritis or synovitis (retention of fluid in bone synovial membrane).
Since all your symptoms could be either because of ostitis (inflamation in bones because of injury) or arthritis (inflamation in joints).
The cause can be previous minor injury or any autoimmune disease.Thats why first get an Xray done and discusss with an orthopaedic .For pain and stiffness ,you may use tab ibuprofen as per need.
Hopefully my answer will be helpfull.
