What Causes Pain And Pressure In The Urethra?

About 2 months ago I had a kidney stone that was too big to pass. So it was broken up surgically and removed. Following, I had a stent for about 5 days. Ever since, I have a this pain/pressure in my vagina/urethra area, along with a constant urge to urinate. Super uncomfortable!!! And I can t go much longer than an hour without urinating. The docs I m seeing cannot give me a diagnosis. I ve been masking my symptoms with Advil and AZO about every 12 hours but nothing has actually been cured. They did a cat scan and X-ray, showed nothing. Treated me for an infection although urine culture didn t show one. Then treated me for a sensitive bladder. That didn t work either. Now they re treating me for urethra spasms even though they aren t normal 2 months later, and another antibiotic. They basically told me they are guessing at what s wrong. They want me to wait another month on this medicine to see IF it works. So that will mean 3 months of going through this and still may not have an answer. I really need a diagnosis?!

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Pain and pressure in the urethra and vagina indicate the involvement of bladder and urethra inflammation/infection.

You need physical examination by a kidney specialist followed by other needful investigations like urine culture and sensitivity test, MRI to be followed by specific treatment.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
