What Causes Pain And Inflammation On The Hard Palate?

my hard palate in my mouth is sore and red on the right side. I'm also having some sinus pain on that side. about three weeks ago i have bad sinus pain on the LEFT side, as well as chest congestion -- took Biactin (sp?) for 10 days, that cleared about. about a week later these new symptoms started. No chest prob now, but the sore in mouth is very painful. I've had cancer sores many times before, this is not that, i don't believe. it could possibly be a burn (but that was almost a week ago). thoughts?

Thanks for the query..

You have inflammation of the hard palate and it can be probably due to post nasal drip that can be secondary to sinus infection or sinusitis..
It can also be due to causes like burning with hot foods or chemical substances and can be due to side effect of medication if you take any.
I would suggest you to consult an Oral Physician and get clinically examined..
The exact cause needs to be ruled out and treated..
As of now you can gargle with numbing mouthwash containing Lignocaine to reduce pain and soreness.
You can hold cool water in mouth and then rinse off as it will absorb heat and reduce inflammation and pain..
Take Vitamin B complex supplements..
Take anti inflammatory painkillers like Brufen..
