What Causes Pain And Heaviness On The Neck And Head?

I have pain and heaviness on the right side of my head, neck and face that sometimes radiates to the shoulder. The only testing I have had so far is a CBC. The only abnormal finding was a WBC of 11.8. I have had 2 rounds of antibiotics and the WBC is still 11.5. Could this possibly be just a simple sinus infection. They want me to see a hematologist/oncologist and I am terrified!

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

* The pain and heaviness on the neck and head may be a sign of underlying sinus infection, congestion or else.

In my clinic, after a thorough clinical examination, I do recommend an x-ray of the nasal and ethmoid sinuses to look into the matter if clinically it is relevant to proceed for such evaluation and find out the root cause of agony.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
