Hello,

Orange vaginal discharge is most often a sign of infection. The following are few causes of orange vaginal discharge:
1) Vaginal bleeding
2) Serosanguinous vaginal discharge as occurs in infections.
3) Bacterial vaginosis
4) Trichomoniasis

The following are few treatment options:
1) Antibiotics are the mainstay of treatment.
2)Bacterial vaginosis: tab. Metronidazole 500 mg orally twice daily for 7 days
3) Along with that, Metrogel vaginal cream is to applied inside vagina topically for at least 14 days.
4) You can use clindamycin 2% gel instead of Metrogel.
5) Trichomoniasis: oral Metronidazole and Tinidazole are recommended.

A single 2-g dose of Metronidazole, Tinidazole, or Secnidazole is recommended. Please do consult a gynecologist for physical examination and vaginal swab for testing. Only then accurate diagnosis can be made along with initiation of appropriate treatment.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Pallavi M., Anesthesiologist
