Hello, Your husband has history of having pilonidal sinus. Presently he is having orange pus discharge coming from it. When the pilonidal sinus gets infected, it starts oozing discharge. He is suggested to wash the area with antibacterial soap on daily basis and make sure that the soap is washed out. He should keep the area dry and avoid sitting for a long time. He can take sitz bathe twice daily for relief. He can take a course of broad spectrum antibiotics (Amoxycillin or Ampicillin) to help reduce infection, inflammation and discomfort. He can take analgesics or NSAIDS, one stat for relieve from pain. If obese , he should control weight and maintain healthy weight. He should avoid intake of oily junk food and prefer home made nutritious food. It will help to reduce the symptoms comparatively. If needed he can consult a GP/Urologist, he may be recommended surgery but recurrence rate of pilonidal sinus is high.
