What Causes Numbness On The Roof Of The Mouth?

Roof of my mouth (from back of teeth to about a quarter way back) feels a bit numb but not fully. Feels slimy but that s possibly just the numbness feeling. My only guess is its possibly coming from working. I work with hot grills and deep fryers, could it be a sign of dehydration?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

It could be due to minor abrasions and will settle by itself. Dry soft palate can also give this symptoms and dehydration is also a possibility. Drink plenty of water to keep yourself hydrated. If symptoms persist, it is better to consult a physician and get evaluated.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
